Irina Thomas
I grew up in the frozen north of Russia far above the Arctic Circle, where the very definition of the words like "day" and "night" is challenged by nature. A day lasts from mid-May to the end of July and a month-long Arctic night is brightened only by the snow that covers the ground for over 10 months.
My mother worked in a hospital so the only color in our home was white, a perfect complement to the snow outside our window. I was a healthy child and could spend hours playing outside in sub-zero temperatures without ever having so much as a runny nose. I loved listening to adults, hoping to understand what it's like to be a grownup. When they complained about their aches and pains, I tried to imagine how they felt, not knowing even the slightest hint of pain in my little body. |
As an adult myself, learning how to keep our bodies healthy—after all, they are what allow us to have this magnificent experience called “life”—has been the focus of my work.
The world of official medicine never interested me since many of the doctors who worked in the hospital with my mother were unable to support their own health, or keep their families healthy. By the mid-1980s, I had learned to listen with my hands, to feel the pain of others inside my own body, to lift a headache or a joint pain by simply sliding my hands over the affected area. But I wanted to know more.
When I came to the United Stated, I immersed myself in the world of healing. I was excited to acquire and apply different healing techniques. When I discovered craniosacral therapy, it seemed like the answer to all of my questions about health.
I was happy to see how craniosacral therapy was changing the lives of my clients, but soon realized that no-one can make another person healthy without his or her active participation in the process.
In recent years I've expanded my research into diet, fasting and overall fitness. My practice now is an accumulation of many different approaches. Inspiring my clients, friends and family to improve their health has become my passion. That’s what the Health Reset Retreat is all about.
The Health Reset Retreat combines Elena’s experience with mine. And we both hope this will be the starting point on the journey to your own good health.
